Did you know today is National Hydration Day? Proper hydration is vital to living a healthy life, but it’s often overlooked.

Summer Blends

Summer has officially arrived.  It really is my favorite time of year.  I am all about the longer days, warm nights, and cherry limeades from Sonic. It also means escaping to a beach for some much needed R&R.

Summer is all about scents. Citrus, sunscreen, and bug spray. It’s amazing how smells can take you back to another place and time. Your essential oils can really help you escape, if you can’t actually get away.  I created a few diffuser blends to try this summer. What are some of your favorite summer scents?

Bye, Bye Mosquitoes

I may love summer, but I could do without those pesky mosquitoes. Who is with me? It is incredible the harm these bloodsuckers are capable of; not to mention those bites itch. Here are two solutions to keep those bugs off.

YOUNG LIVING calls Citronella, Summer’s Sidekick.  Just a bit of Citronella oil in your diffuser, moisturizer, or sunscreen can keep mosquitoes at bay.

DIY Bug Off Spray

After Sun Spray

As much as we slather on the sunscreen, sunburns happen. It is just a part of summer. So, if you happen to find yourself a little pink, here is a great DIY for a cooling spray using your essential oils.  You’ll definitely want to keep this in your beach bag.

In a 2oz. Spray bottle add:
10 drops Lavender
3-5 drops Peppermint
Add 2 tbsp. aloe, 1 tbsp. witch hazel, 1 tsp fractionated oil (coconut or jojoba). Top off with distilled water.
